전 특수부대원이었던 잭 카버가 알 수 없는 군도에 들어서며 시작되는 게임이다.

시대를 앞선 뛰어난 그래픽으로 유명하다. 오브젝트의 개별적인 퀄리티도 뛰어나지만 그 당시에 가장 놀라운 점은 엄청난 가시 거리의 맵을 로딩 없이 구현해낸다는 점이었다.

2008년 10월 유비소프트에서 출시한 FPS 게임. XBOX360, PS3, PC로 발매되었다.

게임 플레이가 약간 하드코어하기 때문에 비슷한 시기에 출시된 폴아웃3, 페이블 2, 기어즈 오브 워 2 등의 대작들 사이에 묻혔지만 대부분의 리뷰 사이트들로부터 높은 평점을 받았다. 파 크라이의 후속작이지만 연관성은 별로 없다. 게임엔진은 전작의 크라이엔진을 사용하지 않고 듀니아 엔진을 사용했다.

외국인 용병인 플레이어는 UFLL(United Front for Liberation and Labour)과 APR(Alliance for Popular Resistance)이라는 두 세력이 내전 중인 아프리카의 한 나라로 들어가 불법적으로 무기를 제공하고 있는 미국인 무기상 자칼을 죽이는 임무를 수행한다.

xp에서 응용프로그램오류 0000142생길 경우 farcry3을 실행 되게 하는 파일

 

Do you get the "Application Error 0xc0000142" error when you run Far Cry 3 on your Windows XP PC? If so, jKlark is once again here to save the day.
